New School Year, New Schedule

I'm finally back from summer break. I meant to blog more, I did. I always do. But about halfway through summer I realized I didn't want to miss out on any time with my kiddos. I have two little ones in school full time now, and the last one home with me. And she's growing up so fast. So I decided to enjoy the summer with them and cut back with social networking.

Summer was still productive, though. I met some new critique partners to help me with my YA *waves to critters* and got to read some of their stories. So fun! I also finished editing a contemporary romance that's been sitting in a drawer for...four years? AND, the exciting part, I finished revising the first book of my YA series and sent it off to my agent.

All in all, I feel like I accomplished a lot. What did you do over the summer? And now that schools is here for some of us or will be soon, how do you balance everything you have to do? (I love tips and advice--this mom/writer/wife thing is hard!)

  3. Glad you got that book revised for your agent!
Sorry, not a parent. I just have to balance work, wife, life, music, and upcoming book release.

  4. Thanks, Alex. You have a lot on your plate, too. It definitely takes time to figure out that balance but it seems like you're doing a good job at it!

  5. Thanks for voting for a character name! And holy moly, have you accomplished a lot this summer. Critting, editing, and sending something new to your agent -- that's awesome! :-)

  6. I miss you too! It's always so sweet to see your name. I am rooting for you that your book finds a home soon! You have always persevered. Glad you enjoyed your summer with your kids. Mine seems to be about the house--and yes have posted pictures on facebook:) Still waiting for a contract but working on a different kind of book--more suspense. Anyways, all in God's timing!

  7. Sounds like a very productive summer. Wish I knew the secret to balance, but someday I'll achieve it - I work hard to achieve goals! :)

  9. Blogging was way hard over the summer, it feels good to be back in the swing of things :) Sounds like you got a lot done. I wrote a book and sent it off to beta, so that's something :)
